Original 1930s Verity Fan from Queen Mary Passenger Ship.  Astonishing fully documented artifact from the RMS Queen Mary Ship.  Acquired from an Invitation only auction conducted by the RMS Foundation Inc in 1996, this fan comes with a certificate of Authenticity certifying it to be an original "once in service" item used aboard the RMS Queen Mary when she majestically sailed the seas ...... Circa 1936-1967.  Also contained in the documentation is a B&W as well as color photo of the fan as installed inside the passenger cabin aboard the ship.  Another piece of documentation is a photo copy from a published record of the ship and its components stating that "Veritys supplied all the Cabin Fans for the R.M.S. Queen Mary as well as a laminated color portrait of the ship "Queen Mary Fan".  Also included from the November 9th 1996 event are a set of General Auction Rules as well as two separate "Auction Item Lists".  This was lot 68 "Fan (circa 1936) Small Ivory-tone metal fan that was used in all classes of passenger cabins.  We also have color photograph taken of the fan on that day in 1996 as it sat on the table awaiting its sale.  Included is also the  letter of invitation sent to the donor inviting them to attend the event as well as the envelope the invitation was mailed in.  This is the most incredible amount of documentation on the complete history of a fan we have ever obtained and pleased to offer.

Overall, the fan still retains its original ivory color as shown in the original color photo included.  As with most fans found in installations such as this, with an upgrade or remodel to the cabin containing the fan, its refreshed finish isn't always to original manufacture specification.  This fan appears to have undergone such upgrades or refreshes a few times during its life on the ship.  Bearings and shaft show excessive wear though operate correctly for demonstration purposes.  If longer run times are desired, I would recommend bearings being replaced.  For use in the United States, I would recommend a bridge rectifier being installed into the base for conversion of Alternating Current to Direct Current.  Fan will also operate nicely on 110-120 Volts on High and Medium speed settings.

A truly historic artifact and once in a lifetime opportunity to own such an important part of history.
