1895 Meston Back Switch Tripod Desk Fan. The Beautiful Fan Was Designed By A.W Meston And Patented March 7 1893. A.W. Designed The Housing For This Induction Motor That Was Designed By F.E. Briner And Received A Patient On June 21 1898. This Is One Of If Not The Most Highly Sought After Fan Among Collectors. This Example Is In Good Condition For Its Age. The Tripod Base Has A Hole In Each Foot (Possibly For Mounting) And Appears To Have Been Painted Over At Some Point During Its Long Life. The Bronze End Bells Have Aged Beautifully. A Front Plate/Ring Of The Motor Appears To Have Been Originally Nickle Plated. The Center Wide Band Around The Motor Appears To Have Been Painted Flat Black At Some Point In Its Life. Original Brass Motor Tag Is Still Riveted On Top Of The Motor. This Is The FI1 Model And Is Rated For 104 Volts At 60 Cycles. This Example Is Missing Two Small Screws Used To Tighten Prongs For The Power Cord. When Found, This Fan Did Not Still Retain Its Original Blade. This Blade Was Masterfully Produced By One Of The Best Craftsman Known To The Fan Collecting Community. An Opportunity To Own Such A Wonderful Machine Very Rarely Comes Around.
