"Survivor" All Original Circa 1909 12" Westinghouse Vane Oscillator Amazing Condition

WOW!!!!  We are thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity to own a true survivor in remarkable original condition. This stunning 1909 12" Westinghouse Vane Oscillator is entirely original, with the only exceptions being the power cord and two bushings on the lower right and left of the vane, which were replaced to ensure proper operation. There are so many wonderful original details on this fan that it’s difficult to list them all. Every area you look reveals another small reminder of just how untouched and well preserved it truly is.  This fan is in the condition collectors dream of.

The original paint retains an almost glass-like deep black finish, beautifully complemented by the golden brass, which has been preserved by its original lacquer and areas of natural patina on blades, cage, and vane.

All vane components are original from the springs to the red fiber bushings – everything.  The “Off” lettering remains fully visible which I have never seen in a Westinghouse Vane.  The vane stops, brush caps, switch insulator, and power cord grommet are all original. Original lacquer is still present on the blades, cage, and vane, and even on the stencil lettering (cut outs) on the cage logo.   

The internal condition is just as impressive as the exterior. It was immediately apparent during cleaning that the fan had never been previously disassembled. The rotor looks virtually new, and the switch assembly is in pristine condition (as shown in the photos). Even the original insulation on both the front and back of the motor remains fully intact and can be seen through the openings in the motor housing. It is exceedingly rare to find an example showing so little evidence of use—almost as if it spent its life carefully stored rather than operated.  

The fan has been fully disassembled and professionally serviced with great care taken to preserve its originality. The original finish was gently cleaned and waxed .  It runs and oscillates smoothly on two distinct speeds, exactly as designed.

This is a true collector-grade piece in every sense. Original examples of this caliber rarely, if ever, surface, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a Westinghouse Vane Oscillator in such pristine and largely untouched condition.  An ideal example for the purest collector.
