Circa 1903 GE 12" Pancake Trunnion Desk Fan Full Ribbed Base Original Brass Patina

This rare and highly sought-after 1903 GE 12" Pancake Trunnion Desk Fan exemplifies the most desirable features of the iconic "pancake" series. The fully fluted, ribbed base unique to the 1903 model year adds striking visual appeal and distinguishes this fan as a standout among its contemporaries.  The elegant 10-wire brass guard enhances the overall aesthetic, while the cast brass blade hub featured for the last time in 1903 after nearly a decade of use since 1894 adds historic significance to this piece.  Upon acquisition, the original finish did not meet our standards, prompting a meticulous, full restoration of all cast iron components. The result is a rich, deep black enamel finish with a showroom-quality gloss that pairs beautifully with the brass elements. We believe the brass components were polished and lacquered many years ago, and they continue to present exceptionally well.  The fan has been fully serviced and inspected to ensure proper operation. Wiring has been updated for safety, and the motor runs smoothly across all five speeds when powered with 108V AC.

This fan is in excellent condition and would make a superb addition to any serious antique fan collection.
