Very Rare Circa 1890's Backus Water Motor Fan. In The Late 1800's Backus Was A Manufacture of Water Motors For All Applications. The "Motor" Was a New Invention During This Period So Motors Were Being Adapted to Any Device That Was Previously Cranked By Hand Or Tredel. Backus Manufactured Many Belt Drive Ceiling Fans That Would Have Been Powered By A Water Motor. This "Desk" Model Was Quite Possibly Backus's First Venture Into A 12" Table Fan. Water Motors Are A Joy to Watch And Just Think About Its Rich History.
